This coat is cut for the wide stance, deep chest, thick neck of the English Bulldog. The founder designed this coat because her Bulldog overheated. And knew from her background in textiles that there was a better way to protect this very heat sensitive dog. This coat is a raincoat, but also a cooling coat in the summer and a warming coat in the winter. It seemed strange to put a dry coat on her Bulldog in the summer,  but soon realized the dramatic difference in made in her dog's breathing. Rarely, does her Bulldog pant in the summer with the coat on, if she is moving. Air movement pushes the heat out. if there is no air movement, it best to use a fan. Usually only necessary when over 85F-90F.
