Q. What is special about Zentek products?

Zentek products are designed with a special blend of breathable waterproof mechanisms, phase-change technology, and mesh linings to ensure maximum airflow. The products have at least three layers of specialized fabrics, which are the cherry on top, blending the comfort, breathability, and adaptive performance code with a perfect fit.

 

Q. Why do dogs need temperature-regulating coats?

Dogs can do little to control body temperature- they cool down primarily by panting and paw pads. Our coats can be used to keep off overheating in hot seasons, and they give warmth to cold seasons, particularly to short-haired, thin, or older dogs.

 

Q. What is the difference between Zentek-made dog coats and others?

Designed professionally, our coats provide:

• Front, middle, and back three-section design (tailor fit).
• Velcro or buckle straps are adjustable.
• Underbelly coverage in order to control core temperature better.
• Lightweight comfort (just 5-14 oz) that even fussy dogs will put up with.

 

Q. What is the appropriate size for my dog?

Measure from the base of the neck (where the collar is) to the base of the tail. Each product page has size charts. We offer custom options for special sizing.

 

Q. What if the coat doesn't fit?

Coats may be exchanged or refunded within 14 days in case they are not worn and washed. Custom embroidered products are nonrefundable due to the necessity of precise measurement; however, we are prepared to collaborate with you in the event of any errors.

 

Q. Are Zentek coats water-resistant?

They are water-resistant and breathable to make sure your dog is dry and comfortable.

 

Q. Where Zentek products are produced?

All Zentek coats and vests are produced and handmade in Seattle, Washington (USA).

 

Q. What is Zentek Quick Wrap and why is it effective?

The Quick Wrap is applied around the chest of the dog and beneath the belly--areas of vital circulation. It proactively cools when hot and warms when cold without the use of water or refrigeration, using Comfortemp® technology.

 

Q. Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We deliver to any location across the globe, but there might be some limitations on the product. The price of shipping is weight-oriented, and the price is determined at the checkout.

 

Q. Why are Zentek K9 dog mats or human bedding better than other similar ones?

Zentek products can be controlled to achieve a specific temperature because of a phase-change fabric, unlike typical mats or bedding. In the case of dogs, the K9 mats save cases of overheating or chilling by absorbing or perching temperature as sufficiently required. To individuals, Zentek bedding helps to eliminate night sweats, stops temperature fluctuation, and allows comfort all year round.

 

Q. Do you have human products also?

Yes. Zentek also offers vests, bedding, blankets, and insoles with the same adaptive temperature control that are perfect for daily comfort, active lifestyles, and travel.

 

Q. What is the durability of Zentek products?

Zentek products can be used for several years with due care. The customers claim their dog coats are in good service for 10-15 years. Everything can be washed in the machine.

 

Q. Do you issue gift certificates?

Yes. We have gift certificates of any size in our online store.

Q.  What is the wet-bulb effect, and how does Zentek help?

The wet-bulb effect occurs when humidity and heat cause the body to have difficulty in cooling down. The Phase-change fabric absorbent by Zentek absorbs and releases heat when it is required to keep pets and people safe and comfortable under these conditions.

Q. Are Zentek products machine washable?

Yes, you can wash Zentek products in the washing machine. For the best results, wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, and don't use bleach or fabric softeners. Don't wash on a warm cycle, and always wash clothes that are of the same color. We suggest bending and hanging things up to dry. We are proud that some of our customers have been enjoying their Zentek products for more than 12 years. With mindful cleaning and frequent machine washing, they keep reaping continuous comfort and performance.

Q. Do you ship to Canada?

A:We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.

Q: Why do certain dogs need coats?

A:   Dogs have a limited ability to regulate their body temperature. They can only cool through their paws or pant to cool through their lungs.  All dogs, even older dogs, need assistance regulating their body temperature. And dogs with little fat or fur need protection against the elements. These temperature-regulating coats keep dogs cool in hot weather and warm in cold weather.

Q: Dog coats never seem to fit right. How are these different?

A: Created by a professional dressmaker who understands the value of fit and function, Zentek coats are designed with Lycra insets and adjustable Velcro or buckle straps for ease of movement and girth adjustment. Each coat is designed in three sections: front middle and back. Each  section can be resized for a custom fit if needed.

Q: How do the coats stay in place?

A: The chest piece is designed to move with your dog, even when twisting and turning. The chest piece extends through the dogs’ front legs, around the rib cage of the dog to his back. Velcro holds the sides of the coat to the chest piece. Many dog coats slip. Our do not. This was the most difficult problem to solve.

Q: Are they comfortable?

A: Great for dogs who typically won’t tolerate wearing a coat, these are made with a lightweight, breathable fabric, and are fully adjustable, unrestrictive and completely comfortable. The smallest coat is 5 ounces, the largest is 14 ounces.

Q: How do I determine which size to buy?

A: Lengths are measured from the dog’s neck(where the collar sits) to the base of the tail. A comprehensive list of sizes is available in the Products section of our site. Also check out our custom  section for more measurements.

Q: What if the coat doesn’t fit?

A: Return any unworn and unwashed coat to 2400 NW 80th St., PMB #294, Seattle, WA 98117-4449 for an exchange or full refund.

Q: What is Comfortemp®?

A: Comfortemp® is a thermoregulating material that absorbs excess heat from your dog’s body, creating a cooling effect. When their body temperature falls below a certain point, that stored energy is released to keep their body warm.

Q: Is the coat water-resistant?

A: Yes. Every Zentek coat is made from a breathable, wind-resistant and water-resistant fabric that allows moisture to bead off the coat and keep your dog dry.

Q: Why was the Zentek line of coats created?

A: Founder, Janice Kajanoff believed there was something missing from dog coats currently on the market. She used her knowledge of good design, fit and performance fabrics to create a line of unique coats that enhances the elegant profiles and special needs of dogs. She also experienced her own  dog  overheating in the summer.  Janice also realized there was a need for more reflective material on coats. That’s why all Zentek coats feature reflective tape and labels.
